FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions about Novopac
❯ What is Novopac SA?
Novopac SA is a 100% family-owned company based in Givisiez (FR), Switzerland, and a specialist in packaging: paper, paperboard, flexible packaging and thermoformed solutions. We bring strong technical expertise in execution, formats and print, and we operate a large logistics platform for Switzerland (storage and distribution).
❯ Which customers and industries does Novopac serve?
Historically well-known in food packaging, Novopac has expanded its know-how into luxury, fashion, cosmetics and industrial segments. Our approach is to propose the right execution (material, print, finishing) based on product constraints and market requirements.
❯ Which materials does Novopac work with?
We work with:
- Paper and paperboard (multiple grades and basis weights)
- Plastics and bioplastics
- Separable hybrid solutions (paperboard–plastic) designed to facilitate component separation depending on use case and end-of-life streams
- Fibre-based solutions (e.g., cellulose), aligned with technical and regulatory requirements
- Flexible packaging (films, bags, laminates, etc.)
and thermoformed packaging, in accordance with the technical specifications of the product to be packaged.
❯ What printing technologies can you offer?
Depending on the substrate and packaging type, Novopac can offer:
- Offset
- Flexographic printing
- Digital printing
- Gravure
The best choice depends on the material, required visual quality, volumes and technical constraints.
❯ What finishing and embellishment options do you offer?
Depending on the material and the desired finish, we offer the following:
- Hot foiling
- Cold foiling
- Selective UV varnish
- Embossing / debossing
and other finishes depending on feasibility and target look
❯ What is Novopac’s approach to sustainability?
Novopac takes a no greenwashing approach: transparent, fact-based decisions on materials, clear trade-offs, and active work on material innovation aligned with current requirements (e.g., PPWR, food contact compliance, etc.).
❯ Can you produce any quantity?
Production quantities depend on material, execution, printing, complexity and manufacturing constraints. There is no one-size-fits-all rule: each project is analysed in detail, and Novopac typically recommends one or several suitable options based on the client’s needs (cost, lead time, performance, look, compliance).
❯ What are typical lead times?
Lead times depend on many factors: material, quantity, complexity, seasonality, and production capacity. Each product is different—Novopac confirms realistic lead times once the specification and planning are aligned.
❯ Do you provide prototypes and samples?
Yes. Novopac provides samples and, when needed, prototypes to validate material/execution, visual quality and real-life performance (e.g., food requirements, handling, logistics). The goal is to de-risk before industrial production.
❯ What quality standards and certifications do you have?
Novopac is certified ISO 22000:2018 and FSC. Productions follow recognised standards: BRC where required, or at minimum ISO 22000, depending on the product and supply chain.
❯ Do you offer storage and call-off deliveries?
Yes. Novopac has large storage capacity and delivers throughout Switzerland on demand. For standard items or customer-specific goods held in stock at Novopac, deliveries are typically T+1 or T+2, depending on destination and organisation.
❯ How do you manage transport and distribution in Switzerland?
We work with a single trusted transport partner for over 20 years. Transport is integrated into our service, supporting reliability and consistent delivery quality across Switzerland.
❯ Do you have in-house graphic services?
Yes. Novopac provides a full graphic service, from simple file adaptations to complete visual creation. For broader needs (communication/marketing), our sister company Habefast can support with a 360° service offering.
